Artemis Artichoke Seeds
This hybrid has intense purple heads. A few have small spines. The flair on the heads makes spectacular flowers and the flavor of the purple heads is great a wonderful combination. The hybrid is not as early as some of the others but still productive. Preferred in Italy for its purple color, and also high in anti-oxidants.
Grower’s Tips - some germinate indoors, with wet papertowel and ziplock bag method at room temperature. Or sow, directly into soil, ¾ inch deep, colder soil will slow germination. Best to wait until final freez of the season to plant. When days reach 85 f, germination will slow.
Pre-plant- pre irrigate planting area and fertilize if you choose, or mix in your organic fertilizer at this time. Plant into damp ground, and keep on the dryer side until a few true leaves form.
