Persephone Artichoke Seeds

$15.00

This hybrid’s flowers flair outwardly as they mature. In Latin America this shape is referred to ‘Española’ and if it’s available will outsell all other varieties and shapes.  This makes the artichoke quite like a flower. In Chile this type is preferred over all other shapes. When we cook flared artichokes, it is always among the favorites for flavor and meat on the leaves.

Grower’s Tips - some germinate indoors, with wet paper towel and Ziplock bag method at room temperature.  Or sow, directly into soil, ¾ inch deep, colder soil will slow germination.  Best to wait until the final freeze of the season to plant.  When days reach 85 f, germination will slow.

Pre-plant- pre-irrigate planting area and fertilize if you choose or mix in your organic fertilizer.  Plant into damp ground and keep on the dryer side until a few true leaves form.

Yield expectations/capabilities – 4 large heads and 12-15 various sized heads, depending on growing factors.

Price – 25 seeds, 3 scheduled foliar supplements $15
